Servir a Dios es servir a nuestro prójimo

Pues si yo, el Señor y el Maestro, he lavado vuestros pies, vosotros también debéis lavaros los pies los unos a los otros. 
15 Porque ejemplo os he dado, para que como yo os he hecho, vosotros también hagáis.

Cambiador del Mundo:
Antes de la fiesta de la Pascua Jesús quiso dejar en claro lo que significaba ser un verdadero hijo y siervo de Dios por lo que se levantó de la mesa, se ciñó una toalla, puso agua en un lebrillo e inmediatamente comenzó a lavar los pies de los discípulos y a secarlos con la toalla.
Todos ellos estaban asombrados e inclusive Pedro pretendió no participar y Jesús le respondió que lo que hacía en ese momento no lo comprendía pero lo entendería después.
Aun así Pedro intentó rechazar ese gesto de amor de Jesús por lo que le dijo: si no te lavo los pies no tendrás parte conmigo.
Así que después que Jesús le lavó los pies a todos, tomó su manto y volvió a la mesa y les dijo: ¿Saben lo que os he hecho?
Aunque ustedes me llaman Maestro y Señor y lo soy, hoy les he lavado los pies para enseñarles que también ustedes se los deberán lavar los unos a los otros, porque siendo yo de mayor autoridad que ustedes, lo he hecho y por eso ustedes también deberán hacerlo. Si hacen estas cosas serán bienaventurados.
*Como cristianos nacidos de nuevo, tenemos esta misma encomienda del Señor de servir y de amar a nuestro prójimo, si en realidad nos consideramos siervos e hijos de Dios (Juan capítulo 13).
Hoy es el día de revisar nuestra vida y decidir consagrarnos a Dios en nuestro amor, servicio y cuidado al prójimo y por supuesto para que en Cristo seamos salvos (Romanos 10:8-13).
Cristo en nosotros nuestra esperanza de gloria y nuestra victoria que por su amor y gracia nos permite cambiar el mundo (Colosenses 1:27, 1 Corintios 15:10, 57). Aleluya.

To serve God is to serve our neighbor

14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. John 13:14-15

Before the Passover feast, Jesus wanted to make it clear what it meant to be a true son and servant of God, so He got up from the table, wrapped Himself in a towel, put water in a basin and immediately began to wash the feet of the disciples and to dry them with the towel.
All of them were amazed and even Peter pretended not to participate and Jesus replied that what He was doing at that moment he did not understand but he would understand later.
Even so, Peter tried to reject that gesture of love from Jesus because of what He told him: if I don’t wash your feet, you won’t have a part with me.
So after Jesus washed everyone’s feet, He took His mantle and returned to the table and said: Do you know what I have done to you?
Although you call me Master and Lord and I am, today I have washed your feet to teach you that you should also wash each other, because being I of greater authority than you, I have done it and that is why you should also do it. If you do these things you will be blessed.
*As born again Christians, we have this same entrust from the Lord to serve and to love our neighbor if we really consider ourselves servants and children of God (John chapter 13).
Today is the day to review our life and decide to consecrate ourselves to God in our love, service and care for our neighbor and of course so that in Christ we are saved (Romans 10: 8-13).
Christ in us our hope of glory and our victory who by his love and grace allows us to change the world (Colossians 1:27, 1 Corinthians 15:10, 57). Hallelujah.
