Nuestra obediencia agrada a Dios

Samuel le contestó: ¿Y crees que al Señor le gustan tus holocaustos y ofrendas más que la obediencia a sus palabras? Entiende que obedecer al Señor es mejor que ofrecerle sacrificios, y que escucharlo con atención es mejor que ofrecerle la grasa de los carneros

Cambiador del Mundo: Dios le había dado al Rey Saúl indicaciones específicas para que ejecutara cuando peleara su batalla contra el Rey Amalec y el ejercito amalecita. Y era destruirlo totalmente y borrarlo de la faz de la tierra, por cuanto ellos se habían opuesto a Israel en su camino hacia Egipto.
Pero el rey Saúl desobedeció y perdonó la vida del rey de Amalec y lo mejor de sus animales y se atrevió a ofrecer holocausto a Dios cuando se dio cuenta que su propio ejército lo abandonaba. Eso le costó que Dios le quitara el reino y nombrara a David como su sucesor al reino.
Estas historias pueden parecer distintas a las nuestras, pero la realidad es que muchas veces Dios nos manda a hacer ciertas cosas o dejar ciertas relaciones con personas que no quieren arrepentirse y abrir su corazón a Dios, porque tarde o temprano serán tropiezo para nosotros y nuestra familia, corriendo el riesgo de perder toda la gracia y el favor que teníamos en Cristo, por habernos rebelado a las instrucciones específicas que Dios nos había dado en su palabra la Biblia.
*Cada uno sabe qué es lo que Dios le pidió y entendamos que la rebelión y desobediencia a Dios es como pecado de adivinación y como idolatría la obstinación. Y es por eso que hoy tenemos que pedirle a Jesús de su gracia para que caminemos en su santidad y obediencia a toda su palabra, para agradarle y para que tengamos tiempos de refrigerio (1 Samuel 15:23, Hechos 3:19).
Obedecer parcialmente es desobediencia y rebelión, así que no corramos el riesgo de caminar en tibieza, sino seamos radicales para que Dios pueda ser nuestro Rey y Señor y nuestra esperanza de gloria y victoria para cambiar el mundo (Romanos 10:8-13, Colosenses 1:27, 1 Corintios 15:10, 57). Aleluya.

Our obedience pleases God

So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:22 (NKJV)

World Changer: God had give King Saul specific instructions to do when he fighting his battle against the Amalek King and the Amalekite army. And it was to totally destroy it and wipe it off the face of the earth, because they had opposed Israel on their way to Egypt.
But King Saul disobeyed and spared the life of the king of Amalek and the best of his animals and dared to offer a holocaust to God when he realized that his own army was abandoning him. That cost him God to take away the kingdom and appoint David as his successor to the kingdom.
These stories can look different to ours but the truth is that many times God sends us to do certain things or to leave certain relationships with people that don’t want to repent and open their hearts to God because sooner or later will be of stumble for us and our families running the risk to loose all the grace and favor that we had in Christ for having us rebelled to the specific instructions that God had given us in his word the Bible.
*Each one knows what God asked us and understand that rebellion and disobedience to God is like a sin of divination and obstinacy like idolatry. And that is why today we have to ask Jesus for his grace so that we walk in his holiness and obedience to all his word, to please him and so that we have times of refreshment (1 Samuel 15:23, Acts 3:19).
To parcially obey is disobedience and rebellion, so let us not run the risk of walking in lukewarmness, but let us be radical so that God can be our King and Lord and our hope of glory and victory to change the world (Romans 10:8-13, Colossians 1:27, 1 Corinthians 15:10, 57). Hallelujah.
